One of the most peculiar things about living in New York is the all knowing and all being presence of the rats. And Negronis
A negroni is a basic cocktail (one part Gin to one part Vermouth to one part red bitter vermouth like Campari) , but not one that you find most places. However due to many things such as Camapri and Aperol (hereby refered to as BIG B, or Big Bitters) s’ massive spending on #influencers, real normal ads, and promotions to restaurants in the big apple, you can find a Negroni (or the bitchmade equivalent, the Aperol Spritz) almost anywhere in New York.I really like them, and drink them year round no matter what. I know I know I have a problem lets move on
A certain influencer/eastcoastmediaelite Matt Hranek is also a large part of who (or whom?) to blame in my case. He started to post every Negroni he ever received, good or bad. Myself and all my friends wondered, were they really all that great? Pretty soon we were deep in #thegroneculture and had quickly decided where we would get Negronis and where we wouldnt bother. It seemed that quickly after the Negroni had entered the NY menswear scene every stupid store event or influencer party I ever saw or attended was serving negronis. On tap, pre bottled, or made right in front of you, it didnt matter they were going to be there and usually were going to be pretty good and made for some great pics. I think its partly to do with the red drink. Maybe this is the “male” version of rose? i dont know im drunk

This is one of my favs, mostly because of the company. Also not a real place to get a Negroni because rarely do they have everything needed and more importantly because this is not a bar/lounge regulated by the NYC liquor council and is only a place to buy expensive luxury mens clothes and accessories. But sometimes if you are friendly and there are no cops or narks around, maybe youll get a negroni
The absolute best place. Hands down. Most expensive place. Hands Down. If I could have any negroni by myself or with others this is it every time.
This place is kind of the original place to get negronis? They have over ten different versions, including a great easy on top version that is my favorite. They are also the first one to my knowledge to coin “Negroni Sessions” . Campari also has given them a lot of money and goodies to help promote the Negroni and Spritz. Once a few friends tried a negroni with chinese hot sauce in it. It wasnt a good experience. Only bad experience though. The original on MacDougal is great, negronis are great, hard to get a spot though.
Dante at Genuine Liquorette (RIP)
Dante used to have a “pop-up” above another bar, although the pop up lasted for what felt like two years. This place was way easier to get a table and closer to everything else you wanted to do like eat Italian food and get gelato or a canoli. RIP the juul
A great place to have a negroni. come over any time and ill make you one. even if its 9am. I probably wont make myself one. Unless you ask nicely
The best pizza in New York. For real. Good Negronis
An alright Negroni. I actually usually order something else. This place is awesome though, just get a Manhattan instead

One of my first Negronis. I remember it being real good, Brett might have even bought me 3 that night. Live jazz music was and is always a treat
Was suprised by this one, real good.
Was surprised by this one as well, not great at all. Probably the worst. This place is an original in the whole sense. Not amazing food, bad/not great service, but a great vibe and never a long wait and you can get a cheeseburger or club sandwhich right across from the Prada store in SoHo.
I forgot I had to rank them. Whatever. Negronis are like dogs they are all good negronis unless they are great negronis
